Do you fool with Mr. Soon? No? Well, you’re cordially invited to change that. This is the joint I created for Marian Mereba’s “Room for Living Remixes” project, released last Thursday, 10/31. Blue for Mr. Greenis the finisher for her EP, Room for Living. Take a listen, and if you enjoy, please share with your friends!
Marian Mereba - Room for Living Remixes. It’s here!
What you get: grooves grooves grooves…downtempo chill, ultra intense, electric, psychedelic. Producers pulling out all the stops. Some ridiculouslyill emcees and talented singers lacing ‘em. And Marian herself pinning it all together.
Halloween was an appropriate release date, cuz there’s some MONSTERS on this joint. I’m proud as hell to have a track on it in their company.
It’s exclusively at Babylon Cartel; listen to the stream HERE. Next Monday, it’ll go up as a free download for you, The People™. Listen, enjoy, and share!
The #RoomForLivingRemixes, by your very favorite Marian Mereba, falls from the heavens this Thursday, 10/31…Halloween if you’re nasty. New Soon Sounds will be featured on the project, just one small part of what is gonna be a majorly dope release. #RFLRMX1031
Muluken was born in the 50s in Gojjam, Ethiopia, and moved to Addis Ababa as a child, where he picked up drumming and songwriting. Between 1972 and 1976, he recorded and performed actively, but afterward, a temporary hiatus became permanent when he retired from music and joined the Pentacostal Church as a full-time practitioner.
Bahta Gebre-Hiwot - a Tigrigna song. The name isn’t posted, and the song was titled with the name of the Bihér-Tigrigna or Tegaru, an ethnically distinct group that lives in the Tigray region of Ethiopia & Eritrea. The spoken language is Tigrinya.
This song was performed as part of the early Ras Band’s sets at the Ras Hotel in Addis Ababa in the 60s.
David Bowie - Big Brother / Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family.
Big Brother features an early analog electronic instrument called the Chamberlin, and was originally intended for a musical adaption of Orwell’s “Nineteen Eighty-Four”. The soundscapes of it and the Chant are Bowie in top form.
Composer, producer, sound engineer, troublemaker, ATLien, and trainwreck in human form. You will find here: visual art inspiration, beers I'm trying, the occasional inarguably beautiful woman, music of all kinds, and KITTENS. Also, dinosaurs with lasers.
